35 year-old Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former captain of the Indian cricket team, handed over his reign to Virat Kohli on 4 January, 2017, who has already started doing a fantabulous job.
Team India, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and guidance of MS Dhoni won the recent T20 series after giving wonderful performances on the field on all three grounds.
But, as per speculations, ahead of the third and final T20I against England at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which was won by the hosts, the Indian team management did something that hints that this was MS Dhoni’s last T20I.
Team India decided to felicitate former skipper MS Dhoni for his contribution to Indian cricket. MS Dhoni was presented with a memento that consisted of his photo as well as an image of all the trophies he won as captain. Though being honored like this by his own teammates is pretty normal for a player like MS Dhoni.
But, this also says that Dhoni’s teammates have dropped a huge hint about this being Dhoni’s final game for India in the shortest format.

Whereas, there is another story which is being circulated as the reason behind this felicitation — that it has been done keeping in mind that this will be Dhoni’s last T20I for India just for a while as the team is set to resume its Test season next week against Bangladesh, followed by the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian Premier League, and the Champions Trophy.
If this was Dhoni’s last T20I, then Dhoni has given his fans a lot to cheer about after registering his first T20I fifty and helping India reach a more-than-competitive score of 202 for 5 in 20 overs.
Though, it still remains to be seen whether this turns out to be the 35 year-old’s last T20I or not, this felicitation is an indication of the respect Dhoni’s teammates have for him. Dhoni has worked a lot in shaping Team India and he absolutely deserves to be honored like this.
