MS Dhoni made his debut as Team India’s captain in 2007. Since then, he was the in-charge of the Indian cricket team till he stepped down and handled his reign to Virat Kohli.
India’s ODI against England was the first match in which Dhoni played not as the captain of Indian cricket team and for a split second he completely forgot that he is not the skipper anymore.
He took the catch of Eoin Morgan at the end of the 27th over and appealed. According to the Umpire, it was a not out but Dhoni was confident about it. Dhoni forgot that he is not the captain and asked for the review.
Here, check out this video of Dhoni asking for DRS way before Virat…

Only a skipper is allowed to ask for the review. Virat saw that Dhoni is confident about the catch. It has also been noticed that 95% of times Dhoni’s appeal for the DRS has been proved correct.
Therefore, Virat as a skipper appealed for the review and it came out as a right decision. Morgan was given out by the end of 27th over. The veteran captain has again proved that he surely will be one of the best captains ever!
