Though Dharmendra presently stays away from the glitz of the glamorous Bollywood world, this superstar needs no introduction. With more than 200 films, he was one among the heartthrobs of the yesteryear.
Around the time he started acting, his cousin Veerendra was a big name in Punjabi movie industry.
Despite being cousins they were close as they were born and raised in the same house. Besides being an actor, Veerendra also earned fame as writer, director, and producer.
The thriving career of this promising artist was cut short when he was assassinated on December 6, 1988. It happened during the shoot of the film “Jatt Te Zameen.”
It’s believed that he was killed out of jealousy due to his rising popularity. He was survived by his wife Pammi Veerender Kaur along with two sons, Randeep Arya and Ramandeep Arya.
Being a humble person he was well-loved by family, friends, colleagues, and fans. His untimely death might have robbed the film world of a great star.
