Good news! The trip from Delhi to Nainital just got better and shorter.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has cleared the Rampur-Rudrapur-Kathgodam section of NH-87 that connects Uttar Pradesh to the state of Uttarakhand.
NH-87, which starts from Rampur in U.P., terminates at Karnaprayag in Uttarakhand.
The 93 Km section will help in improving the connectivity between the capital and famous tourist places like Nainital, Kausani, Ranikhet, Mukteswar, Almora etc.
The project, which has been cleared in favour of Sadbhav Infrastructure Project Limited at bid Price of Rs.1,336 crore, is expected to be completed in two and half years time.
On completion, it will save travel time and will also reduce the cost of travel by lowering maintenance and wear-and-tear cost of vehicles.
The project will also cover districts of Rampur, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital and important towns such as Rampur, Bhotbazar, Bilaspur, Rudrapur, Pantnagar, Lalkuan, Haldwani and Kathgodam.
