1. Delhi Cantonment
Many people claim to have witnessed a woman draped in a white saree asking for a lift in this area (which otherwise is said to be the safest place in Delhi). On being denied a lift, people say, the woman had followed their cars at a speed which was the same as of their cars.
2. Lothian Cemetery, Kashmere Gate
Bypassers have often heard haunting laughs and cries coming from this cemetery. People also claim to have seen a beheaded ghost with his head in hand. The fact that the place is filled with dead bodies only adds to the creepiness and scary factor of the entire place!
3. Sanjay Van
Sanjay Van (a sprawling city forest area near Qutub Minar in Mehrauli) is a popular spot for children and nature lovers during the day. However, at nightfall, there have been repeated instances of people spotting women dressed in white, shrill laughs of children, foggy nights during the peak summer season and many such occurrences which seem to be an intervention of an entity that is not human.
4. Agrasen ki Baoli, K G Marg
This 104 level step-well is claimed to increase the creepiness with every step descended. The black mystical waters that it was once filled with, are said to have lured people to commit suicide for many centuries. The presence of other beings and whispered haunted noises are said to surround you more and more as you take the steps deeper down into this step-well.
5. Firoz Shah Kotla Fort, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg
This usually dead silent place is said to have the presence of Jinns. People narrate stories of being pushed, thrashed, and of suddenly emerging fragrances at this place during their visits. Some even claim to have been followed by an unseen entity to their houses and who then wreaked havoc in their lives.
6. Khooni Darwaza, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg
The place has been witness to brutal murders of three princes and hanging of freedom fighters in pre-independence era by the Englishmen. The place is exposed in the open, however, it is listed as one the most haunted places because endless accounts of blood-curdling screams and anguished cries of people have been heard by passersby over the years.
7. Delhi Ridge Area
Numerous accounts of unjustified and inexplicable disappearances in this area coupled with factors like low mobile network reception, eerie stillness, zero natural sounds and sweet fragrances surrounding you, make this place a top haunted place in the national capital. Eyewitnesses also claim to have seen a ghost of an Englishman with an old-school rifle strolling in this area.
8. House Number W-3, Greater Kailash
Following the brutal murder of an elderly couple in this house a few years back, people have claimed to hear their cries and pleas in the vicinity of this abandoned house. People also claim to have seen apparitions of the couple on the porch and peeping through the windows of the house.
9. The Karkardooma Delhi Court
The CCTV cameras installed in this court complex have recorded various instances of shutting and opening of doors, files being plucked off drawers, blinkering lights and on some occasions even the appearance of hazy figures through walls and dislocation of chairs. It seems like the real-life Paranormal Activity is right at your doorstep!
10. DDA flats in Qutub Enclave Phase II
The area on which this complex currently stands is said to have been a graveyard once. Tales of an unusually pale and grimy corpse of a woman hanging upside down from a tree have been narrated by residents. People also claim to have experienced a change in temperature and sudden winds followed by an ear-splitting laughter of a woman when passing through the area.
