Another Death On Camera: Depressed Model Hangs Herself During Video Call

In recent times, when all the health councils and government organizations are coming together to spread awareness concerning depression, here’s news of another woman who succumbed to the devious disease. A few days back, a Dhaka-based model and mother of a 4-year-old daughter, Risila Binte, committed suicide while on a WhatsApp video call with husband, at a time when her daughter was away.

All of 22 years old, the beautiful model was reportedly found unresponsive after she hanged herself at around 2 pm at her residence in Dhaka on Monday. Although she was taken to the hospital without much delay, she was pronounced dead on arrival.


According to the Dhaka Police, on probing further into the case, they found the woman to have been depressed regarding issues concerning her marriage. They are awaiting the postmortem results to find out the exact cause of her suicide.

Risila Binte was a promising fashion model, who took her first catwalk in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, in 2012. She was also studying at a University for a degree post marriage.

This is not the first time that a celebrity has succumbed to depression. In the recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of depression patients in the entertainment industry. Some sources reveal that depression was one of the major reason behind the tragic death of the promising 28-year-old actor Heath Ledger. Most recently, depression led to the death of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington.

A couple of years back, Deepika Padukone also came out with her battle against depression. She also inaugurated a foundation to help people battle depression – The Live Love Laugh Foundation.
