The COBRA unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) fight Naxals almost on a daily basis, but rarely do we realise the danger they put themselves into in order to maintain peace within India. This video shows an officer in the middle of a Naxal operation, who is down with bullet injuries yet giving instructions (in a cracking voice) to his unit asking them to move to safety.

“I have told headquarters that if we don’t act (gun down naxals) now, then we won’t be able to ever act in our lives. Ammunition is in plenty…keep firing single shots. Don’t panic. Tell Delta 6 that they now have the command, and pull back your party to safety. When you see the helicopter coming, signal it by making smoke. Don’t rush ahead; secure your position first. Pull the injured out and then move ahead. Backup party will come soon; don’t crossfire. Don’t rush ahead; if you do, who’ll pull out the injured?”

We salute such brave men of our country.
