Despite the ongoing unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, locals boys Basit Ahmad and Mohammad Asrar have made it to Spanish football club with the help of CRPF.
Both Admad and Asrar will play for Sociedad Deportiva Lenense Proinastur, a third division football club in Spain’s La Liga, for the next six months.
CRPF has shortlisted these two Kashmiri footballers on the basis of their performance in the football talent hunt conducted by security force. The club agreed to take them for the position of Central forward and Right winger for the coming 2017 January window.
CRPF has tied up with the Spanish football club in order to engage with the Kashmiri youth and channelise their energy in a more positive and productive manner. Due to the ongoing unrest there were was no sports activity in the valley for over four months.
And it seems like the security force’s efforts are yielding results.
“I had never thought about it. Competition was very tough. I’m happy that Basit got selected. I have also got chance to learn there and give my best,” said Asrar.
“It’s a dream. One can only dream about it. Today this dream is translated into reality,” said Basit Ahmad.
All expenses of the two youngsters will be paid by the Spanish club as per the terms of the contract.
The selection of Ahmad and Asrar clearly shows that there is no dearth of talent in India and if you have passion for applying your talent, and willing to work hard then you can achieve your goal.
