Cricketer Praveen Kumar Joins Samajwadi Party Ahead Of UP Elections

Just moths ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls cricketer Praveen Kumar has announced that he has joined the Samajwadi Party.


While addressing the media on September 11, Kumar disclosed that he met UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and decided to join the party.

Praveen added that he will do whatever is possible for the party, though clarified that he will not contest the elections next year.



Praveen, who hails from Meerut praised CM Yadav and said that he has done a lot for sportsmen and has started to build many big stadiums at Lucknow and Saifai.

Praveen added that even outside the field of sports, the chief minister has done a lot and is doing all round development work.

Parveen though has not played for the Indian cricket team in recent times, represents the Uttar Pradesh cricket team in first class cricket level.


He has been a part of the Indian cricket team in six test matches and 68 ODI’s beside playing for the Gujarat Lions team in the Indian Premier League.
