Playing against England in the T-20 International, Indians stepped into the VCA stadium wearing black armbands as a sign of respect to the deceased India U-19 team fitness trainer Rajesh Sawant and Indian cricket player Mohammad Shami’s father.
Rajesh Sawant was suppose to report for training ahead of the U-19 side’s first ODI against England on 30 January. However, he didn’t show up and was later found in his hotel room unresponsive. It’s said that he passed away due to a cardiac arrest.
Two days ago, Mohammad Shami’s father was also reported to die due to a case of heart attack. The cricketer left his rehab with the T20 team and rush to Amroha.
To commemorate the two, Indian cricket team decided to sport a black arm band on the grounds of Nagpur VCA Stadium on Sunday.
