It seems there is no end to ‘logical’ statements by Indian politicians.
Speaking at a rally in Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh, Senior CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjan said that a condom advertisement featuring Sunny Leone will destroy people’s sensibility and lead to more rapes in India, reports Hindustan Times.
Stirring up a controversy, Atul Anjan said:
“Now there is an advertisement with her (Leone), have you seen it? She is lying down…and a man comes to her. (They show the advertisement) in the morning, at night…an advertisement for condoms, it is such a dirty and horrific advertisement that develops your sexuality and destroys your sensibility.”
The politician added that such condom advertisements must be stopped from appearing on TV channels and newspapers.
According to reports, Anjan’s main target was Sunny Leone who came from Canada. But Anjan got his facts wrong. He said that Leone came to India from Australia.
What’s more? He even blamed Mahesh Bhatt for introducing her to Bollywood.
Anjan said that he had been told by people about Leone’s “dirty movies” and he felt vomiting after watching them.
Addressing the gathering, he said:
“I don’t want to speak about this before my sisters, they are porn films. I had never watched one till now, so I watched this porn. After watching just two minutes, I kept vomiting. They are showing everything and selling everything.”
Really, Mr Anjan? You vomited after watching Sunny Leone’s porn video?
But let us not laugh at him. Politicians are politicians; some of them find fault with women while others defend rapists.
Recently, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said that “four boys cannot rape a girl. It is impossible. One commits rape and then four more are named.”
Taking a step further, Janata Dal United chief Sharad Yadav, during a debate on women’s security in Parliament, mocked the entire female saying “Who amongst us has not followed girls?”
