Once IPS Kiran Bedi showed this courage by taking action against a minister; she towed Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s car with a crane. Because of this incident, people started calling her ‘Crane Bedi’.
Then came this traffic constable who stopped Narendra Modi’s car and didn’t let him go even after being told that Narendra Modi is inside the car.
This incident happened in 1998, when Narendra Modi was the in-charge of the BJP and Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the PM of India. There was a rally in Jagdalpur which the PM was supposed to address and Modi was also heading to attend the rally.
After the rally, Narendra Modi took a plane to Bhopal from Raipur and from Bhopal airport, he got seated in an ambassador car which came from the BJP Office.
The same day, the caravan of Digvijay Singh, the CM of the state was scheduled to pass by and hence Modi’s car was stopped near the Hamidia Hospital. Even when the constable was told that Modi is inside the car, he didn’t allow them to go.
Soon after the caravan passed, Modi stepped out and applauded the constable for doing his duty without any partiality. This incident surely showed that the PM does not want any VIP treatment unlike other ministers.
