Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has once again landed himself in a controversy by making outrageous comments against Madarasas.
A case has been registered against him at Hyderabad Police station, where he has been charged for “resorting to deliberate and malicious act to outrage religious feelings by insulting a religion or religious beliefs”.
The case has been registered against his February 22 tweet where he said there was no difference between Madarsas and Saraswati Sishu Mandir schools run by RSS.
Though he later deleted the tweet it said,
“Is there a difference between Madarsas and Saraswati Sishu Mandir schools run by RSS? I don’t think so. Both spread hatred.”
Facing heavy criticism for his tweet, he later faced protests from the Muslim community and other political leaders.
Now Hyderabad’s Amjed Ullah Khan, who is Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) party’s spokesperson, has lodged a complaint against Singh under section 295A of the IPC at Hyderabad’s Dabeerpura police station.
After filing the complaint, Khan said,
“Comparing the Madarsas with Bal Shishu Mandir run by the RSS organisation in the country points out to his lack of knowledge about the history and existence of the Madarsas.”
