The wedding and love season is here again. Even if we want to and pretend to, our Facebook and Instagram feeds will be flooded with couples posing lovey dovey photographs and posts professing undying and forever love.
To add to this, there’s the Valentine’s Day (now a Valentine Week!!) coming up soon too. It is quite likely that most singles will drown in depression and feel the ‘Forever Alone’ tag hovering over theirs.
Yes, the couples can make us feel insecure and hopeless about ourselves, but as they say ‘The Grass is Always Greener on the other Side’ so it is true for this case too.
The committed life comes with its own set of downs and the singles would actually be quite glad to be away from all that drama.
Don’t believe it? Have a look at some of the facts about committed people, which are frankly, not-so-pleasant. These will definitely cheer you up!
1. Kissing comes with germs
Did you know a partner is likely to transfer some millions of germs per second (of the kiss) to the other? So the longer the kiss, the more number of germs are being gifted to you!
Talk about a lingering kiss now.
2. The cost savings-on the wedding and thereafter
With things like pre-wedding shoots, n number of events like Sangeet, Haldi and what not, your savings will have to take a back rest; probably for the rest of your life.
3. If you die-it could be because of your partner
As per a study, nearly half of the female murder victims are killed by their own partners. Well, that in itself should make you want to stay single forever.
After all, living is more important than being in a relationship that might get you killed right?
4. The cost of raising a child isn’t something we all can afford
With the inflation rate our own cost of living is sky rocketing, so imagine having to feed another mouth. In case you didn’t know already, school fees and other stuff like clothes and toys don’t come cheap.
5. Most marriages/relationships don’t last much these days
How many people around you have had successful relationships lasting for years? Not many, right? The numbers of breakups and divorces have increased immensely in the last few years. Isn’t it better to be single than be heartbroken, then?
6. The loss of freedom
Any committed person you ask about what they miss and they’ll most definitely say ‘freedom’. For everything that you do and every decision you make, it cannot be done or mode without your +1’s consent.
So all we’re saying is, there is an ugly side to being committed too! And it’s not always sunshine and roses.
Hence, don’t worry, enjoy the single life (or the ugly side of it) before you become a part of it too.
