There has always been a stress-strain relationship between your TV remote and advertisements. You become intensely restless when your entertainment is punctuated by the pointless display of advertisements, which lack both creativity and sensibility.
But there are certain stars in TV commercials who charm with their magnetic ten-second screen presence and stop us from changing the channel. Their cute faces, enticing dialogues and engaging talent endear them to us.
Here are some of the super cute faces that we love to see during TV commercials:
1. Amol Parashar
Amol Parashar, a creative and enthusiastic engineering student, who took the road less travelled by quitting his corporate job at an American consulting company to follow his unbeatable passion: Acting. He renounced his promising career and sacrificed his financial stability to have a filmy chat with his dreams.
And guess what? His dream did come true. He became the face of many popular brands including McDonalds, Virgin Mobile, Mentos, MetLife, Bourbon and Cadbury. If you see his Cadbury Silk ad, you won’t fail to notice his winning smile that says a lot.
Also his supporting role in ‘Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year’ gifted him a bag of opportunities. Recently, he played the character of a sorted guy Rohan in the movie ‘Babloo Happy Hai’, where he received a lot of appreciation from critics as well.
2. Abhinav Shukla
His chiselled body and chocolate boy looks is what every girl craves for. In April 2004, Abhinav was selected as Mr Best Potential in Gladrags Mr India Contest. He gained popularity ever since.
His roaring journey in Bollywood started with the movie ‘Roar: Tigers of the Sundarban’, where he played the role of an army commando and walked out with good reviews for his performance. This model-turned-actor heated up the television sets with a Wild Stone commercial but arrived at the centre of the spotlight with his compelling chemistry with Vaani Kapoor in the TBZ wedding ad.
3. Suresh and Ramesh
If you haven’t heard of them, you are probably an alien to the world of television. Their witty and hilarious acting made them the brand ambassador of Five Star. What separates them from the other actors is their amazing story-line and absorbing chemistry.
4. Sahil Shroff
Another model-turned-actor blessed with great physique and charming looks. He has appeared in TV commercials including HCL Enterprise, Tata Indica, Lux and Cadbury’s Eclairs. The ‘HCL’ guy has even walked for designers like Manish Malhotra, Vikram Phadnis, Narendra Kumar and JJ Valaya.
He entered Bollywood with Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2’. Not a bad start! And Priyanka Chopra gave him a few acting lessons as well!
5. Aamir Bashir
Before his captivating performance in ‘A Wednesday’, he had been a regular face in commercials, and recently surprised us with his endearing performance with Nimrat Kaur in the Cadbury ad. He was also seen promoting other brands like ICICI, Close Up and Kellogs.
In 2010, Bashir’s directorial debut ‘Harud’ premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. This St. Stephen’s graduate, before making his mark in direction, acted in a few movies like ‘Split Wide Open’ (1999) and ‘Armaan’ (2003).
6. Anuj Sachdeva
This ‘MTV Roadies’ star has appeared in many commercials including some with Anushka Sharma. He trained in marital arts for nine years and has a brown belt in Taekwando. That’s just too much for a TV star!
He studied acting at Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York and soon after was flooded with offers from Sony Television. He is currently seen in Rajan Shahi’s new show ‘Itti Si Khushi’ on Sony TV.
