Children in India will now know the tales of the heroism and sacrifices of CRPF soldiers of the country by way of a series of books named ‘Shaurya Gathayein’ (Fables of Valor). Boosting the morale of jawaans is the key aim of this series.
The comic released recently is based on the story of the suicide attack on Srinagar airport attempted by Lashkar militants in 2001.
The suggestion of presenting these stories of bravery of CRPF soldiers through comic books had come from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nine books in the series have been launched and this is the tenth one. Earlier ones are based on the stories of Parliament attack, Ayodhya Temple attack and the Chinese war.
Reportedly, a dozen such books will be released in total. The next one in the pipeline in based on the militant attack on the Raghunath temple of Jammu.
Funds generated from the sale of these books will be used for the welfare of the families of martyrs.
