Hours after rumours broke out that Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen was going on Today’s Show to publicly reveal that he is HIV positive, the 50 year old confirmed the news by stating:
“I am here to admit that I am in fact HIV positive and I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks, of sub-truths – very harmful … stories that are threatening the health of so many others,”
The interview which was conducted live on Tuesday with Matt Lauer as the host, turned out to be exactly what it was speculated out to be.
He then added:
“What people forget is that that’s money they’re taking from my children…I trusted them and they were deep in my inner circle, and I thought they could be helpful. My trust turned to their treason.”
Following this, Sheen broke off his eight-month engagement to adult film star Brett Rossi.
The two got divorced back in 2006 after which Sheen contracted the virus.
The reports says that Sheen’s daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 9 are HIV free.
