With the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Elections going on, two of the biggest political parties in India are out there with aggressive campaigning strategies. No party can afford any slips at this point in time.
The centrally located Karchana Tehsil of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, witnessed rallies and protests on Thursday. People of the Karchana Tehsil demonstrated to condemn against the transfer of Sub Divisional Magistrate Raja Ganpati R, who is said to be known in the state for his honesty and dedication. He is an IAS trainee and had been appointed only a month ago in this region.
According to the protesters, SDM Raja had taken some strict action against land and mining mafias in the area. Sources reveal that SDM had alleged some BJP leaders of being involved with these mafias. They said that this was the only reason for his sudden displacement.
Protestors at Karchana Tehsil accused that the BJP politicians had misused their power for the sudden transfer of the SDM. They shouted the slogan chanting “first bring SDM back” demanding that Raja be transferred back to the Tehsil.
They shut down most of the government offices and shops. Owing to these protests and demonstration, the local market was shut down and traffic was disrupted for the day. Most connecting roads to the Tehsil were also blocked at the time of protests hindering commute in and out the district.
Local authorities have been taking care of the situation. Policemen were called to handle the crowd and disperse them to avoid any mishap.
