Marriage in India is seen as the ultimate bond between man and woman. But marriage is lot more than that! The beautiful relationship of life partners is about trust, companionship, friendship and comfort in each other.

 

Though having kids strengthens the bond between married couples but having kids is not everything for many. There are some celeb couples in India who have never had their own children after getting married to each other.

So here is the list of 10 celebrity couples who proved that having own children is no criteria for having a happy married life:

1. Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi

Javed Akhtar married actress Honey Irani in 1972 and had two children – Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar. However, Javed and Honey’s conflicts made them split. Javed Akhtar later married Shabana Azmi in 1984. Initially, the two did not have children of their own since they were too busy professionally and later realized that it was too late for them to have kids of their own. Moreover, Shabana considered Zoya and Farhan as her own children.

2. Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu

A ravishing couple of yesteryear, Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu have redefined eternal love and togetherness with their beautiful relationship. And all this while, Saira Banu has said that she never missed having a child because “Dilip Sahab is like a child”.

3. Madhubala and Kishore Kumar

The prettiest actress of her time, Madhubala married Kishore Kumar in 1960. It was Kishore Kumar’s second marriage and he already had a son with his first wife. Suffering from a heart ailment, Madhubala was advised against starting a family of her own and eventually passed away in 1969 without a child.

Anupam and Kirron met each other in Chandigarh and became friends. Both had had unsuccessful marriages before marrying each other. The couple wanted to have a child but could not despite taking medical help.

Mohammad Azharuddin had two sons from his first marriage with Naureen, that is, before he married Sangeeta Bijlani. But Azhar and Sangeeta did not have children of their own. In fact, their marriage did not last long as the news of Azhar’s affair with Jwala Gutta started doing rounds.

Asha Bhosle was divorced and had three children from her first marriage before she decided to marry R D Burman. After tying the knot, the couple decided to pursue their career in music rather than having children.
