15 Bollywood Legends And Their ‘Then And Now’ Photographs

Bollywood is supposed to be 100 years old. It has had numerous famous star who, no matter how old are now, are still loved by their fans. Looks are bound to change with age. Celebrities go under the knife to maintain their looks while there are many who accept the natural change. Here are a few photographs of some Bollywood’s big names showing how they entered the industry and how they look now!


1. Sharmila Tagore

She was know as the doe eyed beauty of Bollywood and rose to fame in Hindi cinema by giving a stunning performance in ‘Kashmir Ki Kali (1964)’. Satyajit Ray’s ‘Apur Sansar’ triggered  her career in acting in 1959.



2. Rekha

A commendable child artist entered Telugu films in 1966 and she was Rekha. Her first Telugu film was ‘Rangula Ratnam’. Her other Hindi cinema hits are ‘Khubsoorat’ (1980), ‘Khoon Bhari Maang’ (1988), ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’ (1996), ‘Umrao Jaan’ (1981), ‘Silsila’ (1981) among others.



3. Shatrughan Sinha

He worked in hit films like ‘Kalicharan’ (1976), ‘Kaala Patthar’ (1979), ‘Dostana’ (1980), ‘Naseeb’ (1981), ‘Shaan’ (1980) and many others.



4. Vinod Khanna

He topped the list of handsome Bollywood actors back in the 70s and 80s. He has done many negative roles that earned him a lot of appreciation in ‘Man Ka Meet’, ‘Purab Aur Paschim’, ‘Sachaa Jhutha’, ‘Aan Milo Sajna’, and ‘Mastana’, ‘Mera Gaon Mera Desh’ and many more.



5. Zeenat Aman

She never followed the stereotype of angel in the house figure of Bollywood cinema heroines. Rather she was famous for her boldness. Her famous bold character of ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ where she donned sheer white saree and plunging necklines that made the headlines.



6. Waheeda Rehman

Films like ‘Pyaasa’ (1957), ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool’ (1959), ‘Chaudhvin Ka Chand’ (1961), ‘Solva Saal’ (1958), ‘Kohra’ (1964), ‘Bees Sal Baad’ (1962), ‘Guide’ (1965), ‘Teesri Kasam’, ‘Mujhe Jeene Do’ (1966), ‘Neel Kamal’ and ‘Khamoshi’ (1969) made her name in Bollywood. Waheeda was a huge fan of Dev Anand and she was thrilled to debut with his movie.



7. Manoj Kumar

He was know as Bharat Kumar in the industry and was famous for his patriotic roles.



8. Amitabh Bachchan


He started his career with ‘Saat Hindustani’ in the year 1969 but ‘Zanjeer’ in 1973 made him a big name of Bollywood. Amitabh Bachchan is one of those celebs who has accepted the natural change and has aged gracefully.



9. Mumtaz

Mumtaz entered Bollywood as a junior artist, the actress gave hits like ‘Saccha Jootha’, ‘Do Raaste’, ‘Khilona’, ‘Aadmi Aur Insaan’ (1969), ‘Roti’ (1974), ‘Nagin’ (1976) among others. She was quite a hottie back then and was mostly talked about for her affair.



10. Vaijayanti Mala

Vaijayanti’s dancing skills were the most talked about affairs .She began her career with a Tamil film in 1949. She entered hindi cinema with ‘Bahar’ in 1951.



11. Rakhee

Rakhee’s roles in  films like ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ (1976), ‘Kasme Vaade’ (1978), ‘Trishul’ (1978), ‘Kaala Patthar’ (1979), ‘Ram Lakhan’ (1989), ‘Anari’ (1993), ‘Baazigar’ (1993), ‘Khalnayak’ (1993), ‘Karan Arjun’ (1995) and many others were well appreciated and awarded. But she surprised her fans with her drastic transformation as she grew old!



12. Shashi Kapoor

Having acted in about 160 films, this Bollywood veteran was not only known for his impactful acting skills but even for his charming personality. His fanfare was not just limited to Hindi film industry but he has even won million hearts globally. He is touted to be the first Indian actor to worked in Hollywood films at length.



13. Asha Parekh

Be it in sarees or in suits, Asha Parekh looked like a million bucks every time she came on-screen. The beautiful actress who started her Bollywood career at a very tender age never got married.



14. Dilip Kumar

He was the tradegy king of Bollywood, who is still remembered for his intense roles that reminded people of national leaders as Gandhi and Nehru. His real name was Yusuf Khan. He was the first actor to receive the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1954.



15. Dharmendra

He became a household name and the most loved actor with  ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’ in the year 1960.
