Robbers barged into Mukund Jewellers in Chowk market and took 40 kg gold and Rs.13.5 crore cash with them.
The robbery was captured on CCTV installed inside the shop. The robbers were seen brandishing pistols and one of them held an iron rod as they threatened those inside the shop.

Reports say that the robbers shot and wounded the owner Pravin Rastogi. They also hit the owner’s son on the head. Both have been admitted to the hospital.
Jewelers in the city protested against the state administration, which has come under criticism for the collapse of law & order.
It is the biggest robbery in the city and comes in the middle of the ongoing assembly elections in the state. In 2013, robbers fled with Rs.6 crore from a Muthoot Finance outlet in Alambagh.
