Delhi Girl M Gayatri Tops CBSE Class XII Board Exams As Girls Outshine Boys Once Again

It’s a big day today for students as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII board exams results have been declared.

This time too, girls performed better than boys. According to reports, M Gayatri of New Green Field School in Saket, Delhi, has scored the highest marks in the CBSE Class XII exams this year. She scored a total of 496 out of 500 (99.2%). Mythili Mishra from Amity International School, Noida, has scored 495 out of 500.

The pass percentage of girls was 87.57 per cent as compared to 77.77 per cent for the boys.  Overall, Thiruvanathampuram region recorded the highest pass percentage of 95.41 per cent.

The pass percentage in 2015 was 82 per cent as compared to 82.70 per cent in 2014, marking a slight fall.

 CBSE has announced that post-result, counselling would begin on Monday and would continue till June 8. Students can use a toll-free number — 1800118004 — for this.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated those who passed the CBSE Class XII examination.
