Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has jokingly said that he has more Sikh ministers in his cabinet than his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
He was addressing the students at the American University during his US visit this week.
After coming to power in Novembers last year, the 44-year-old included four ministers of the Indian origin. Out of them three are Sikhs.
At present, PM Modi have two ministers of Sikh origin – Maneka Gandhi, who is a Sikh by birth and Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
At present, the Indian-origin minister in Canada cabinet are:
Harjit Sajjan: Defence Minister
Bardish Chagger: Minister of Small Business and Tourism
Amarjeet Sohi: Minister of Infrastructure and Communities
Navdeep Bains: Minister of Innovation, science and economic development
