The topper of last year’s All India Examination for BSF assistant commandant (works), Nabeel Ahmed Wani, has reportedly been threatened by militants. As reported by Zee News, Wani’s sister, Nida, who is a civil engineering student in Chandigarh has also received similar threats.
Reports of threats to assistant commandant Nabeel Ahmed Wani appeared soon after Lt. Ummer Fayaz was killed in the valley of Kashmir.
The Indian Express reports that following the threats, the commandant is scared about his family’s security as his family can be a target of terrorists. His sister stays in a college hostel in Chandigarh and his mother stays alone in Jammu. Wani is also worried about the all the Kashmiris serving in the Army and paramilitary forces and their families.
By virtue of such insecurity, he has requested his seniors in the BSF to allow personnel to carry arms while they go on leave, especially in areas affected by terrorism. He has also urged officers to secure their travel plans when they go home.
