It has been just a day since the fifth edition of the Delhi ComicCon got over and as a huge comic book fan, I had the pleasure of personally attending the event.
While the massive crowd at the event assured us that there is no scarcity of comic book lovers in Delhi, our exclusive chat with Dinesh Shamdasani, CEO & Chief Creative Officer, Valiant Entertainment also made us realise that it’s much harder for a fan to buy comic books in a book store theses days.
While e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Campfire and Amazon have made it easier for the younger generation to buy their favourite comic books, we thought it would be prudent to name a few actual ‘Book Stores’ in Delhi where you can go and buy comic books as well.
Om Book Shop
While Om Book Shops has at present 7 books stores in Delhi-NCR regions, they have also expanded their franchise and opened a store each in Mumbai and Bengaluru as well.
While Delhi’s Om Books Shops (particularly in malls) don’t carry too many comic books, you could still find a good amount of them in the stores especially known series like Superman, Batman, Calvin and Hobbes and the Asterix series.
For a bigger and more promising collections, one can visit their store in Priya Complex of Basant Lok, which has many great collections like Superman, last son of Krypton, Batman year one, Spiderman spider verse, Phantom, and more.

On the pan-India level, the franchise has at present 89 stores across Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Amritsar, Bhopal, Bengalooru, Chennai, Delhi, Durgapur, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Udaipur, Vadodara, Vapi and Vijaywada.
While you can also order books from Crossword online, in Delhi you can visit their Saket store for a somewhat limited collection of Comic Books and sometimes collector’s merchandise as well.

Raja Pocket Books
If you are a big Raj Comics (RC) fan, then Raja Pocket Books is the best place for you. Their Old Delhi Store not only has latest copies of Nagraj, Nagayan, Virat, Fang, Doga, but churns out a bunch of English comic books as well. For a Marvel and DC Comic book fan the collection might be limited, but for a Hindi Comic Books fan, the place is an absolute haven.

Midland Book Shop
While Midland Book Shop has three stores, the store’s location is restricted to Delhi. The Book Shop is also considered the go-to bookshop for one’s every book need. The shop has book collection ranging from hardcore college study books to latest of Salman Rushdie. The good part is also has a good collection of comic books.
The Shops holds a very impressive variety when it comes to comics as one can get everything from Archies, to Tintin to Asterix to DC and Marvel collections, but the biggest attraction for this store is their collection of Japanese Manga which is hard to find especially in Delhi.
The store is a must visit place for a Comic Book ‘Nerd,’ and attracts a lot of students as they sell their merchandise at a much lower price as compared to other book stores.

Daryaganj Book Market
If there is ever a search for books that are no longer in print or are out circulation, Delhi’s famous Daryaganj market is the first place I would recommend that you search. If you are a comic book collector or fan, this is one place where you are likely to find that limited edition Asterix, Batman, Calvin and Hobbes, Superman and many other comic books.
Though it’s a weekly market and there is no guarantee that you will find what you are looking for sure, if you ever had the pleasure to hunt this market, you will find some gem of books that can be both new and second-hand.

While LOLZ closed recently, we are still hoping that they make a comeback and thought it is worth mentioning on our list.
The student cafe, located near Satyaniketan, offered a genuine American diner experience – giving you the impression that you are sitting in a Archie Comic Book café’ and the whole Riverdale gang is going to come and meet you soon.
While one was not able to buy comic books from there, the café did give them an opportunity to have a look and read their huge collection of comic books which included series like Archie, Marvel, Akhbar and Birbal and Amar Chitra Katha.
