The Mandsaur rape case has sent shockwaves throughout India. About a week ago, an eight-year-old school-going girl was brutally gang-raped in the Mandsaur area of Madhya Pradesh. While the girl was waiting for her grandfather to pick her up from school, who was late by a few minutes, the innocent girl was picked up by some strangers. The next morning, as the family was looking out for her everywhere, she was found walking dazed around the streets. Immediately, the police were informed and the girl was taken to the hospital.
The rape case of the little girl has once again put India to shame and reinforced the notion that not only women but little girls are also unsafe in this country. There is a huge uproar in the entire country with people from all corners demanding justice for the little girl.
While Bollywood celebrities have been seen raising their voice on such incidents in the past, this time they were seen maintaining silence on Mandsaur rape case for the initial few days. This urged folk singer Malini Awasthi to stand up in support of the Mandsaur rape victim and criticizing Bollywood and media for showing a discriminative attitude.
Even now, only a few of B-town celebs have raised their voice against the rape case, showing their support for the victim and demanding justice for her. Those who have condemned the Mandsaur rape and expressed their agony and distress are Esha Gupta, Vishal Dadlani, Swara Bhaskar, Riteish Deshmukh, Farhan Akhtar, Richa Chadha and Shruti Seth. M sorry little girl. Sorry this country isn’t safe for you. Sorry these men don’t see you as a gods child that you are. Sorry that the people are seeing just politics in this, but not the love that you are.

Rapists must be punished!
Shameful & horrifying news from #Mandsaur where a child was gangraped & brutalised. Glad to note that leaders have assured a speedy trial. These monsters deserve the harshest punishment. #ProtectOurChildren #JusticeForOurChild https://t.co/qWF5T4B4cK

Disturbing details emerge from #Mandsaur. How can anyone do this to another human being, let alone a child? Depravity! Kudos to Mandsaur Superintendent of Police for nabbing the culprit within the day and to Yunus Shaikh for announcing the accused will get no burial.

Suggested an ideal punishment!
I’m sorry, but death is too easy for rapists of children.
Whether Kathua, Unnao, Surat or Mandsaur, when rapists of children are found guilty, they should be chemically castrated in public, then made to rot in jail, for their entire lives. The bastards deserve endless suffering. https://t.co/enkLzVFGcV

We must fight together!
Instead of name calling shouldn’t we all unanimously condemn all rapes and every rapist? How about committing ourselves to keeping every child of our country safe from crimes. It’s a fight WE ALL MUST FIGHT TOGETHER. #Mandsaur

Do you think Bollywood celebs have shown their hypocrisy in reacting to these two rape cases selectively?
