Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stated that the party will go ahead with the ‘agenda of alliance’ as it was carried under the leadership of former J&K chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Also, BJP asserted that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not put up any new condition for government formation.
Ram Madhav, BJP general secretary and party’s in charge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs, said:
“We are of the view that whatever Mufti Sahab left behind should be taken forward and we are willing to take it forward in the same form.”

Madhav added that during the meeting specific issues were not discussed nor did PDP chief put up any condition.
The alliance between BJP and PDP has came to the standstill following Mufti’s death. PDP chief Mehbooba is believed to have sought concrete assurances from the centre on many issues.
When Mehbooba Mufti met BJP cheif Amit Shah , rumours were that talks for government formation has failed. But following the meeting with PM Modi, things seems to be improving.
Commenting about the prospects of government formation, Madhav said PDP has to make the next move.
On the other side, J&K Governor NN Vohra summoned Mehbooba Mufti and BJP’s Sat Sharma for meeting on Friday amid fresh efforts by the two parties for resuming the alliance in the state.
