Let’s talk about the richest man in the world losing all his fortune!
Yeah, just for a minute imagine Bill Gates who at this point in time is the richest man in the world, loses everything he has. Now think of the aftermath that could happen, leaving Bill Gates with just $2 a day to spend! But what could he do with those two dollars? This question has boggled many of us. According to a recent blog post, it has come to light that the owner of Microsoft Corporation would raise chickens if ever he is left with no money.
He contended, “There’s no single right answer, of course, and poverty looks different in different places. But through my work with the foundation, I’ve met many people in poor countries who raise chickens, and I have learned a lot about the ins and outs of owning these birds. It’s pretty clear to me that just about anyone who’s living in extreme poverty is better off if they have chickens.”
Reasons?? He explained that chickens are cheap and can be taken care of too easily. The investment in chicken brooding is worthwhile, eating them is good for health too. In this way, it is an easy source of income.
Gates and his wife have collaborated with the Heifer International charity. The charity targets on providing livestock to poor families across the world. As per a report published by Oxfam, Gates might become the first trillionaire in the world soon. However, it is believed that this target would be achieved while he would be 86 years old.
Ever since Gates has retired from being a patron in everyday operations at Microsoft, and there have been reports about his attempts to give away the major part of his money to the foundation, his net worth has increased by almost $25 billion (£20 billion). In 2016, his net worth was around $75 billion (£60 billion).
