‘Biking Queens’ Complete Their 10,000 km Journey To Pramote ‘Beti Bachao’ Campaign

‘Biking Queens,’ a group of women that undertake various long and short distance bike rides for various social causes, recently completed a run of 10,000 km to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Beti Bachao’ Campaign .


The women bikers group, in past 39 days, traveled across 10 nations to complete their run.


With this initiative, the group was aiming to propagate PM Modi’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign across 10 nations.

To promote the initiative, the group traveled across 10 nations – Nepal, India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore.

The group, which is now 50 members strong, was started by Dr Sarika Mehta, back in 2015.


Sarika, along with three other bikers, Yugma Desai, Durriya Tapia and Khyati Desai, had began their journey from Kathmandu on June 6, 2016.

Throughout their journey they talked met various people and spoke about issues like female infanticide, girl child education, gender inequality and welfare.


They also gave people supportive measures to empower women and even hit few remote areas of the countries to spread their message.
