A day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar decided to dissolve the probe committee looking into the irregularities in this year’s Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) results, an FIR was registered against some individuals including Science and Arts toppers.
On complaint of the Bihar board, a criminal case was registered on June 7 against BSEB Science toppers Saurabh Shrestha and Rahul Kumar, along with Arts topper Ruby Rai.
An FIR has also been registered against Bachcha Rai, Director of Vishnu Rai College (VR College) and they have all been booked under IPC sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120 (B).
It must be noted that all three BSEB toppers were from VR College.
Bihar’s Education minister Ashok Choudhary said on June 6:
Earlier this month, BSEB had decided to cancel the results of topper Saurabh Shrestha and Rahul Kumar, who had come 3rd, after they were found not up to the mark during the re-test.
Meanwhile Arts topper Ruby Rai had altogether failed to show up for the re-test. It was Ruby’s interview to the media which had brought the whole issue to forefront.
In the interview she called Political Science as “Prodigal Science”and said that it was all about “cooking.”
