Generally, banks have transactions of rupees, but soon a “Roti bank” is going to be opened in the city of Bhopal. In this bank, a person can open two accounts by depositing two rotis or a minimum amount of Rs. 10.
The deposited rotis in the bank will meet the requirements of needy people at no cost. In the city’s Newmarket area, the first and unique bank of the state has been proposed.
The Sufi Akhtar Shari Welfare Society, which has been providing free food to the poor every day for the last four years now, near the Nadar Bus Stand, has decided to open this “Roti Bank”.
Rotis will be available free of cost to poor people. Committee chairman, Maqbool Ahmed, has revealed that preparations are underway for the establishment of the bank. The resources are being mobilized for this. The bank will be inaugurated on August 15, 2017.
The bank will remain open every day from 10 am to 8 pm. Roti, veg, rice can be deposited throughout the day. Distribution of food to the needy will be done from 10 am to 12 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm.
