For nearly a week now, West Bengal’s Dhulagarh in Howrah district has been simmering with communal tension due to the clashes that took place between two communities last week.
The communal clash had taken place over a religious procession and had left at least 25 people injured in its wake.
Following the clash, the state government has immediately transferred the SP of Howrah rural division, and now the Governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi, has summoned the Director General of Police Surajit Kar Purkayastha, so as to ensure that law and order is maintained in the state.
Also, prohibitory orders have been clamped in the area and all the political delegations, be it of BJP or Congress have been stopped from visiting the trouble-torn area.
While these are common practice after a communal clash, what is most shocking is the fact that the incident has been kept under wraps with almost no comment have been made on the political front.
While West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is busy attacking PM Modi for demonetization, BJP government has left no opportunity to attack TMC and Mamata on every small thing.
But despite the fact, almost no senior minister has given any comment on the above situation and no mainstream media has made this news into a cover story or had any discussions about it.
