Every year a large number of cases related to ‘love jihad’ are reported from all across the country. The problem becomes even more serious when a man sexually abuses the woman and pressurise her to change her religion. Apparently, a similar case of Love Jihad happened in Bareilly city of Uttar Pradesh.

Incidentally, a 24-year-old woman from Bareilly has alleged that her 28-year-old lover has cheated on her by hiding his religious identity from her. She has accused the man of concealing his religious identity. Apparently, the victim has claimed that her lover who was actually a ‘Muslim’ portrayed himself as a ‘Hindu’ man with a ‘Tika’ on his forehead and ‘Kalawa’ on his wrist when he first met her in a gym near her residence in Bareilly. Later they became lovers.

Afterward, the ‘Muslim’ man made sexual relations with her with the promise to marry her. According to sources, the man kept on sexually abusing the woman for four years and during the time the Bareilly woman got pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl in April 2017.

The woman has filed a complaint against the conman in the Kotwali Police Station in Bareilly under sections 420 (cheating), 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural intercourse), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 493 (cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage) on the Indian Penal Code. The man has been booked for rape and cheating as in her complaint the accused has also stated that her boyfriend raped her in April 2016 and recorded the act on a video camera as well.

What is more outrageous here is that now when the victim forced the man to marry her, she came to know about his real identity which was ‘Aamir’ and not ‘Golu’. After his identity was revealed, the accused pressurized the woman to change her religion in order to marry her.

The police are doing further investigations into the matter.
