Marriage is one of the most important parts of life, as men and women. And wedding is one of the most important events in one’s life. It is because of this that everybody wants their marriage to be a successful one and their wedding day to be a memorable one, to be cherished for the rest of their lives. However, the marriage and wedding of Bangladesh cricketer Taskin Ahmed has turned out to be an unfortunately ugly one.
The supposed-to-be a special day for the fast bowler and his wife was terribly spoiled by his fans as the newlywed couple has been subject to severe criticism and racism.
Taskin Ahmed got married to his longtime girlfriend Sayeda Rabeya (Naima) on Friday after returning home from a month-long tour of South Africa.
The newlywed couple have been friends since childhood and they got engaged a year ago after both their families agreed to it.
As usual for almost every star or celebrity, the cricketer’s social media team posted the pictures of the cricketer’s wedding on his Facebook page following the wedding ceremony hoping to receive blessings from his fans.
However, the cricketer had to face the backlash instead from his fans. The 22-year-old fast bowler was a heartthrob for many female fans, thus many of them went on to vent out their frustration on the newlywed cricketer.
It seems that racist fans are not happy about Taskin’s marriage at this ‘early age’ and his wife’s ‘not-so-beautiful’ look.
Many took to the social social and posted several comments slamming the cricketer ranging from his early marriage to his wife’s look. Some even went on to say that his wife isn’t as beautiful, compared to his look, and that he should have chosen someone better than her. Some criticize him for marrying at such a young age when he needed to focus on his career and cricket now.
Though those racist comments didn’t affect the joy of the couple and their families, it is reportedly said that Taskin was very sad after reading those scathing comments arched against his wife.
Meanwhile, Taskin’s father had said that there will be another event to celebrate the marriage as the first was more of a private event with only the closest among the family circle.
However, such racist comments are not new in Bangladesh cricket. The fans often get angry over the national cricket team for failing to perform at par with the expectations.
