This Is The New Mandatory Requirement For Getting A Government Job, Making It Tougher To Get One

Published on 15 March, 2018 at 1:55 pm By

It is already an uphill task to secure a government job in India, and now this path will become all the more challenging because you would need five years of compulsory military service to confirm a job in the government sector.

This surprising step was initiated by the parliamentary panel. The panel wants the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to prepare a proposal for this plan and take this up to the Prime Minister.

The real reason behind this initiative is the shortage of around 7,000 officers and 20,000 men in the Indian army.

Similarly, the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy suffer from the shortage of nearly 150 officers and over 15,000 men, each.

But knowing the fact that the central government has about 30 lakh employees with the Indian Railways and the state governments employ more than two crore people, it is hard to say that this plan would be a success.

Also, the Parliamentary Committee has asked the Ministry of Defence to work with the DoPT for the development of this plan.
