It is reported that Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali is soon going to become a bigger brand than ever before, the company released a report regarding its turnover, which is expected to get doubled this year. The reported revenue of the company is said to be of Rs 10, 561 crore for the previous year. Patanjali has been selling products of daily use like shampoos, dairy products, noodles etc.
It is expected that the company would expand its headcount by almost 5 times in a year. If the company keeps growing, it would become the country’s biggest ‘swadeshi’ label. According to Baba Ramdev the company is under a process of setting up its own chain of restaurant.
“So far, FMCG has meant MNCs in India; we have broken that monopoly,” the yoga guru told a press conference here on Thursday. “Global CEOs are sleeping peacefully saying Patanjali’s share market is small. But that is not true. We are leaders in many categories already.” He cited honey and ghee as categories where Patanjali is the market leader.
He also quoted that Patanjali will be headed by a Sanyasi after him and there will be absolutely no involvement of any business tycoons. In the previous fiscal year, the consumer products business under Patanjali Ayurved contributed Rs 9,634 crore to the turnover.
