Zakka Jacob is the executive editor of CNN-News18. He is one of the star anchors of the channel and has been compared to Arnab Goswami for the style in which he hosts his show.
This clip might convince you that he is fast filling the void created with the departure of Goswami from TV.
So when the controversy over Sonu Nigam’s clip was raging on social media, Jacob invited filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri for a panel discussion on the same.

Of course, Nigam had his own supporters and critics. While many claimed that Nigam was not right in criticizing azaan, there were voices which extended their support to the singer for raising the issue of loudspeakers and “forced religiousness”.
On Jacob’s debate, however, something unique happened. This is what Jacob had as an advice for Agnihotri who was siding with Nigam.

What a logic! This is perhaps the best thing to do in these times for anyone bothered with the azaan coming from loudspeakers.
“Move your house. Go to some other locality,” said Jacob.
Of course, Jacob invited ‘some’ criticism:
Don’t know where @Zakka_Jacob lives but I have this urge to rent the house opposite, install loudspeakers, and bleat out Hitch 5 times a day

.@Zakka_Jacob If only Arnab were to turn into a Muezzin, Indian twitter would uniformly unite against Azaan.

@vivekagnihotri @krameshmenon @Zakka_Jacob They should put a loud-speak#er at Lutyens’ – preferably next to 10 JP and play everything from #Azaan to Item No Bhajans the reaction 😃😀

@vivekagnihotri @Zakka_Jacob Good job Zakka proud of you. Then entire india will be moving if you want to get away from noise…

@vivekagnihotri @Panksgr878 @Zakka_Jacob Yes if I (Hindu’s) move from home then build home on the Masjid site. I hope nobody have an issue.

@vivekagnihotri @_NAN_DINI @Zakka_Jacob On a lighter but serious note, my ancestral home has 7 mosques in the vicinity of 2 kms. Just clueless where to move my house @Zakka_Jacob ?

@vivekagnihotri @Zakka_Jacob Zakka’s argument shows his insensitivity built with 2 much ‘Book’ reading and ‘sermons’. It just showed inadvertently. Don’t provoke Vivek😉

By Jacob’s logic people should not even live close to any mosque, and since mosques can come up anywhere in India, people must either bear with any kind of “disturbance” of just move away peacefully.
By that logic, people should leave India if there is no space left anymore to move away from the “noise” that “disturbs” them.
And if we extend this logic to secular territories, people should also move their houses or leave localities if Jagrata bothers them.
Anyway, this is what Agnihotri said on the same:

But MSM is not dying, Mr. Agnihotri! On the contrary, it is thriving and moving up the ladder of ‘logical sanity’, if you would, with each passing day.
Now someone give Jacob an award for finding the perfect solution to all communal issues!
