Remember Yuvraj Singh’s perfect hitting score – six sixes in an over?
Well, an Australian named Aled Carey has just bowled a perfect over.
Six deliveries resulting in six wickets!
He achieved the feat for Golden Point Cricket Club in a match against East Ballarat.
Carey had made a unique history by bowling the perfect over and by being the first bowler ever to take back to back hat tricks in international cricket. Before him, the maximum wicket taken by a single bowler was four and belonged to six different bowlers out of which five were Englishmen and Wasim Akram against West Indies in 1990 at Lahore.
He bowled first eight overs without any wicket. But then the first three deliveries of his ninth over produced a catch at first slip, a catch by the wicketkeeper and a leg before wicket.
After the hat-trick his last three victims were clean bowled. The opposition were all out for just 40.
Excited and proud Carey commented:
A couple of times I’ve been pretty close to a hat-trick, probably three or four times in my life, but I’ve never been lucky enough to get that third one. I’m still in a bit of shock. It’s something you don’t see very often and I think this was just my lucky day. I don’t think I’ll ever do it again.
