Indian film director Anurag Kashyap is known for his critically acclaimed films that have often bagged different national and international awards. Based on a real-life incident his debut movie ‘Paanch’ was initially banned. Then he went on to direct films like ‘Black Friday,’ ‘Dev D,’ ‘Gulaal,’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ which proved to be big hits critically, as well as, commercially. Besides gory scenes and strong language, his films often contain explicit sexual scenes.

Recently, he directed a story in the anthology film ‘Lust Stories.’ During an interview about the film, he pointed out that one shouldn’t be ashamed of seeking pleasure or self-gratification. He further said that the shame forced on people related to sex is no less than a disease.

‘The biggest disease we all suffer from is the unnecessary shame that is thrust upon us. We don’t need to be ashamed of being yourself and what we seek, wanting pleasure and self-gratification.’

A Twitter user took upon this chance to comment that this National Award winning director is a ‘tharki’ as he makes nothing but sexual films. He put forth his point by posting a screenshot of two different news articles. Here’s the tweet:

With the caption ‘1st rule of ‘Tharki’ club,’ the user is trying to emphasize the fact that anyone who includes sexually explicit content in their film is a horny person. Also, they must start being a part of club of horny people by supporting a sexual offender. The user referred to Anurag Kashyap defending Tarun Tejpal who was arrested for sexually assaulting a female colleague.

Soon, others stepped in to show their support and here’s what what they commented:
