The entire country seems to be abuzz and divided into two regarding the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’. Starring Deepika Padukone in titular role, sharing screen space with Shahid Kapur and Ranbeer Singh, the film is seemingly based on the 1540 epic ‘Padmavat’ by  Malik Muhammad Jayasi. However, the introduction of few dream sequences between Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji by Sanjay Leela Bhansali led to a mass protest against the screening and release of the film in India.

Recently, the controversial film was once again in news with members of Shri Rajput Karni Sena vouching to cut off Deepika Padukone’s nose and behead Sanjay Leela Bhansali if the film is released.

In response to the series of verbal and physical assault carried on while making of the film, the lead actress of ‘Padmavati’ Deepika Padukone called out at the controversy surrounding her film as “absolutely appalling” and described how “we have degraded” as a nation.

As the entire country seemed to be tortured between the two opinions, social media influencer Anshul Saxena decided to share in his views regarding the Padmavati controversy on Twitter. In just 140 characters, Saxena exposed the hypocrisy that lies deep in Bollywood.

He tweeted –

It is indeed bewildering to find even Bollywood following the seemingly sick mentality of drawing lines of divisions between injustices committed on actors and films. When Haider was being shot in Kashmir, Shahid Kapur and Irrfan Khan had to face physical assault but neither media nor the Bollywood biggies dared to speak against them.

While we applaud Deepika’s decision to speak out, Bollywood’s choice of speaking out against the atrocities committed by Hindu goons but keep mum on the atrocities committed by Muslim goons do speak a lot about a quaint fear that rests in the heart of all actors and actresses – the fear of being pinpointed as an outcast.

Needless to say, Anshul’s tweets received much applause. Here’s sharing some of the tweets with everyone –

This guy just hit the point perfectly though –

There were some people who did not agree with Anshul Saxena’s opinion at all. Sharing some of those tweets here –

What do you think of Anshul Saxena’s opinion? Do you think it was right for the media and Bollywood to keep mum on the entire episode of physical assault that took place during the filming of ‘Padmavati’? Do let us know about your views in the comments section below.
