After losing multiple ministers to various criminal cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is now facing further embarrassment as he seems to have lost the support of even his former mentor Anna Hazare.
Anna, who is a noted social activist, on September 6 said that he is very “saddened” to see that many of Kejriwal’s colleagues have gone to jail, while some others are “indulging in fraud”.
He added that he is “very hurt” to witness what all is happening in Delhi and said that the “Kejriwal” who worked with him is “over”.
On September 4 AAP MLA Sandeep Kumar was taken into police custody after charges of rape were filed against him. Kumar is currently under police remand, while many other AAP leaders are in jail for various other cases.
Following Kumar’s controversy, Hazare said that he had earlier warned Kejriwal about making sure that the people who join him have good character.
Anna added that any party or leader needs to check that the people who join their party have a clean character.
