The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman has decided to continue Kumble’ stint as India coach for some more time, at least until the West Indies tour.
The team leaves for the West Indies on June 20 from London and returns to India on July 10.

The three-member committee met yesterday evening, and had a nearly two-hour discussion on the issue of new coach’s appointment, but then informed BCCI CEO Rahul Johri that they would need more time.

It was right to ask for more time as CAC is against the removal of Kumble as he has had an amazing success, winning 12 out of 17 matches since his appointment.
A close BCCI source told TOI,
“The CAC has bought some time for Kumble and ensured he is not ignominiously removed after India’s run in the Champions Trophy. He will travel with the team to West Indies. It’s a short tour so there shouldn’t be any problems. Kohli is basically being asked to adjust for a while more.”

A decision on Kumble is now expected to be taken on June 26 by the BCCI.
