Anil Kapoor in Anees Bazmee’s next, Mubarakan, will be seen in a different avatar. He will be playing a turbaned Sikh in the movie.
Anil has personally overlooked the design of his own look and has created something unique and special. The ace actor has actually given inputs to his designer Kunal Rawal. In fact, he even called Kunal to London in December while he was there, so that they could create and shop for his look.
Interestingly, Anil Kapoor will be playing a turbaned sardar for the first time for an entire film.
He has played the role of a Sikh only for songs in the past.
Anil Kapoor, whose roots in real life as well are from Punjab and qualifies to be a true Punjabi, looks smashing in this avatar.
Anees Bazmee’s Mubarakan has an interesting ensemble cast and is all set to witness a lot of firsts.
For the very first time, the ‘Chacha-Bhatija’ jodi, Anil Kapoor and nephew Arjun Kapoor have come together for a film, which has built umpteen excitement among the audience. Arjun Kapoor as well will be playing the role of a Sikh for the first time and has put in immense hard work to get into the skin of the character. The appealing casting of Arjun with Ileana D’cruz and Athiya Shetty has caught the eyes of the audiences already.
Anil Kapoor and Anees Bazmee have treated the audiences with movies like Welcome, Welcome Back, No Entry, etc.
Hence, it would be indeed interesting to see the magic the Kapoor Khandan and Anees Bazmee will create in Mubarakan.
Anil Kapoor says, “Essaying the role of a Sardar is a challenge every actor looks forward to. I must admit that in my entire career, I was waiting for this one big opportunity where a script would allow a strong role like mine to blend itself smoothly in the film. Wearing a turban comes with a big responsibility and I am glad that Anees Bazmee, Sony Pictures and Cine1 Production for Mubarakan chose me for this. Aneez and I have a great equation and I can’t wait to join him on the sets. This is the first time I will be wearing a turban for a fully-fledged role and for me it is a crown and a symbol of pride.”
Mubarakan, produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Ashwin Varde, will be releasing on July 28, 2017.
