Alia, Juhi Chawla!
Main toh kehta hun aap purush hi nahi hain, mahapurush hain mahapurush!
Dr Prem Khurana, iss dhandhe mein bahut purana.
We just made you nostalgic, right?
‘Andaz Apna Apna’ is one of the epic films in the history of Indian cinema. If you have been a fan of comedy movies then you must have watched this masterpiece. This is one movie that had a phenomenal star cast. Each and every character in this film made it what it is today. From hilarious one-liners to commendable acting, the movie had it all.
If you are a hardcore fan of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and have watched it like hundred times then we have a good news for you! Rajkumar Santoshi, the film’s director, has just confirmed a sequel to the film.
However, the director has some big plans for the film,
I want to make a worthy successor. What other filmmakers do is en-cash on a successful film’s title, whether there is a story or not. I can’t cheat people with the title. The day I’m satisfied with the subject being the worthy successor, I will get on the floor with the movie.
But, if you are thinking that you will be seeing Aamir and Salman sharing the screen again for the sequel, then we have bad news for you. The director doesn’t want to cast them and his reason sounds valid.
As for the film’s original cast coming together, Santoshi says that “it’s very difficult”. He explains his stance, “For humour, you need innocence. That time, these actors had the innocence. Now, it will look forced. It looks cute if a 20 year old is chasing a girl. A 45-50 year old man chasing young girls looks vulgar.
The director is confident with the amount of young talent Bollywood has. He is sure that he will find the suitable actors for the roles soon.
It’s not as if there is a dearth of talented young actors to choose from. “There is Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan… They are all promising actors and they have the knack for comedy. I will pick up good talent for the film.
Rajkumar Santoshi does not want to milk money in the name of Khans. Rather, he has the courage to take the risk with the upcoming actors. Fair enough?
