Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has said that he wants to see his former rival and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan as India’s President soon.
He said that he admires Big B a lot and whatever happened between them during struggle days is a thing of past. He praised Amitabh not only as a good actor, but also as the personality of the millennium.
“The film industry has completed 100 years and he has touched the height of greatness. I wish to see him as the President of India very soon,” he said during a session of the Taj Literature Festival in Agra.
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan launched the biography of Shatrughan Sinha, written by columnist, critic and author Bharathi S Pradhan. The 338-page book retraces the ups and downs of India’s most popular ‘Bihari Babu.’
An excerpt of the book released by the publication house Om Books International on their Facebook page revealed what actually went wrong between the two, in their initial days of stardom. “The problem was the applause I was getting for my performances. Amitabh could see the response I was getting. That’s why he didn’t want me in some of his films,” read an excerpt.
Another excerpt from the book, mentioned that actresses like Zeenat Aman and Rekha also contributed to the rift.
