Alia Bhatt has always been very outspoken about her thoughts and beliefs and so is her sister. Alia Bhatt’s sister, Shaheen Bhatt has slammed the media in a hard-hitting letter that she has posted on Instagram.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has recently lost her father and her teary-eyed pictures are all over the Internet. Yes, celebrities are public figures and it’s the media that keeps us updated about their lives. But sometimes people should be sensitive enough to give them their personal space.
Talking about the same, Shaheen Bhatt has made a point that high profile funerals are not star-studded parties that should be covered by the media. It’s that one time when celebrities should be left alone to mourn for their loved ones. Here is what Shaheen wrote in her letter:
I have never understood the media showing up to high profile funerals to take pictures of grieving family members. Death is traumatic enough without pictures of you at your most broken, being circulated all over social media. The insensitivity of it all is mind boggling. There need to be some lines drawn in the crazy voyeuristic age we live in. It is not okay to be a voyeur of death. It is not okay to treat a funeral like a party and show up to take pictures of the mourners in their finest white. If you come across pictures like these, please don’t click and contribute. We need to learn how to be human again.
