Are there any women who can say with conformity that they haven’t been ogled, groped, teased or touched by strangers? I don’t think there will be a single nod of agreement. This list also includes many men who have faced sexual harassment in hands of strangers. Despite sounding horrible, this is the reality we live in. The incident shared by comedian Ali Asgar again proves the same.
He has been a TV personality for many years. Ali Asgar, however, became a known face in the household with his performance as dadi in The Kapil Sharma Show.
Flamboyant and witty, people were really in love with the character. There are times when he actually made us forget that he is a man playing the role of a woman. Yes, his performance is so convincing. Before telling you how he too became a victim of harassment, here is a video is his performance as lovely dadi.
Getting back to the topic, he shared in an interview that once during a performance he was sexually harassed. It took place in a wedding in Delhi where he was entertaining the audience in his dadi avatar. During the performance, some men pinched his butt and touched his chest. They were all drunk and it went on till other performers intervened to stop it.
Naturally, Ali Asgar was quite disgusted by the incident. Normally, if anyone mistaken him as a woman in his dadi avatar then it is a compliment but not this time.
He was baffled by the fact that how can people just come up and touch him inappropriately. Even if they were doing it because he was dressed as a female then that is equally pathetic. How can someone harass an elderly person or woman like that? Well, this is a question that we too have! Sadly, there is no answer about this mentality of people.
Talking about convincing power of his dress up and character, Ali Asgar fondly recollects that once Jacqueline Fernandez asked him to adjust her lapel and he had to remind her that he was actually a man.
We love our sweet dadi and want him to share more screen time. We also wish he never faces such an issue again and that also becomes a reality for the other people in India. What are your thoughts on this whole issue? Our comments section is waiting for you.
