After the hush-hush affair, Priyanka and Nick finally put an end to all speculation when they got engaged in a traditional Hindu ceremony on August 18 at her Mumbai home. 36-year-old Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and 25-year-old American singer Nick Jonas had a ‘roka’ and an engagement party the same day, after which congratulatory messages kept pouring in. After their MET Gala 2017 appearance, this friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship. Later, Priyanka walked out on Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat.

Priyanka Chopra’s first cousin Parineeti Chopra twinned with her sister while the ‘Quantico’ actress and her fiance Nick complimented each other in traditional attires.

Before her engagement, Priyanka left Ali Abbas Zafar‘s Bharat starring Salman Khan. Tiger Zinda Hai fame Ali had welcomed the actress on-board with this tweet:

The Sultan director’s first choice was always Priyanka. He said, “When I wrote Bharat, I was sure that I wanted a certain kind of an actor. I approached Priyanka. She had expressed a desire to work with me.”

Later, Priyanka Chopra‘s exit from Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat was confirmed by the director via Twitter, who said he was informed in the ‘nick’ of time!

He then made netizens go on a guessing stream when he posted that the next leading lady of Bharat will be announced soon:

And finally, Katrina Kaif joined the cast of Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat.

As crazy as it may be, Katrina Kaif actually had some sort of ‘premonition’ that she will be part of Bharat! This was revealed by Ali, who said she told him ‘he would really miss her on the sets of Bharat‘.

The duo has worked together in films like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.

Katrina Kaif did Ali a big favor by agreeing to work on the project. In an emotional note, Ali said to a leading daily:

“I do owe a lot to Katrina. Often, emotional decisions can backfire. I have taken the decision of roping in Katrina unemotionally. Luckily, Katrina’s dates were also available. She also has two other films in her kitty, but we will work around that.”

Despite Priyanka Chopra walking out due to personal reasons, Katrina already knew she will be on-board. In an exclusive interview, Ali Zafar said:

“It’s bizzare. When we finished Tiger Zinda Hai, Katrina told me that I am going to miss her on my next film. At that time, Priyanka was going to do my next film. Katrina smiled and told me that she will find some way to be a part of the film. Now she is a part of Bharat, so maybe it was destiny.”

In the same interview, Ali clarified that there is no bad blood between him and Priyanka. He said, “She is a dear friend, so I can’t feel hurt or angry with her. Priyanka had valid reasons and I couldn’t say no to them.”

Ali finally revealed the trailer of Bharat on Independence Day on Twitter, also later thanking the audiences for the response.

Meanwhile, Dabangg actor Salman Khan has been sharing a few pictures from the sets of Bharat with his fans on Twitter.

His co-star and ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif also shared her look from the film from Malta, where the crew is currently shooting.
