Though, now Akshay is at the peak of his popularity, there was a time when the actor was struggling to get good roles in films. At various junctures in his life, the actor has even faced rejection. Akshay Kumar auditioned for the role which was finally played by Deepak Tijori. He recently revealed to a publication and said:
“Apna screen test diya maine, for Deepak Tijori’s role. And they didn’t like it. And, apparently, I was crap, so they removed me.”
Once Farah Khan who was also a part of the casting process in the film said that Akshay had auditioned for the role of Shekhar Malhotra, however, director Mansoor Khan didn’t find him a fit choice for the film.
