Akshay Kumar is seen as one of the finest actors in the Indian entertainment industry. He has spilled the magic of his impeccable acting in a number of Bollywood films like ‘Airlift’, ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘PadMan’, ‘Rustom’, ‘Baby’ and many others.

Apart from being a great actor, he is also seen as one of the Bollywood celebs who have, time and again, involved themselves in a lot of charity. Akshay Kumar’s social service endeavours also include a number of initiatives for the armed forces of India. The actor who himself played a naval officer in award-winning film ‘Rustom’ recently put his ‘actual naval uniform’ that he wore in the film ‘Rustom’ for auction. Take a look at his tweet announcing the auction details below:

Following this, his wife, actress turned writer Twinkle Khanna also shared the news on her social media page. Check out her post below:

Despite the fact that the auction is being conducted for charity, a section of social media users did not like the idea. Some comments resenting Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s social media posts about the auction can be seen below:

Apart from the above, there were many more who disapproved the idea of the auction, including Lt Col Sandeep Ahlawat. Taking to social media, he wrote a detailed Facebook post why the idea of auctioning the “uniform” is flawed. Take a look at his post below:

His post was also shared by journalist Sandeep Unnithan on his Twitter page. Check out the tweet below:

Responding to the tweet above, Twinkle Khanna tweeted that she has been threatened with bodily harm and will take a legal action. Below is the tweet by Twinkle Khanna:

Recently, speaking at New India Conclave in Mumbai, Akshay Kumar said that he stands by his wife and does not care about who is saying what. A report by Deccan Chronicle quotes him saying:

“Of course I stand by her, whatever we are doing is for a good cause. I am with my wife… Mujhey Kuch fark nahi padta kon kya bolta hai (I don’t care about who says what).”

Well, thinking logically, Lt Col Sandeep Ahlawat’s post has raised some really valid points. Wearing armed forces’ uniforms by civilians is not permissible under law, therefore, what Akshay Kumar wore in ‘Rustom’ was indeed not the “actual naval officer uniform” as quoted by him in his tweet. Moreover, in the last point of his Facebook post, Sandeep Ahlawat has clearly said that he will drag Twinkle Khanna to the court for the auction “if” she tries to auction Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ outfit in the garb of “uniform”.

Furthermore, standing by his wife and not understanding Lt Col Sandeep Ahlawat’s points and taking them seriously, Akshay Kumar might just have led a number of people to think that he just pretends to respect the armed forces and their families and does not think or feel about them to the core!
